37 weeks......FULL TERM!!

Whoa!  I can't believe I made it!  (okay, I can)  It has been a long road to get here.  I have been pregnant for all FOUR seasons.  My clothes don't fit anymore and I am so uncomfortable, especially when baby girl is trying to exit out my belly button!
I am almost prepared and ready.  The car seat is installed, but my hospital bag is non-existent.  I have the baby's stuff out on the dresser, but the diaper bag is still sitting on the nursery floor stuffed full of Emily's old stuff.  My plan is to get to it this week.
I went to the doctor on Thursday and I was 2 cm dilated.  (YAY!)  Don't get too excited.  That really doesn't mean much.  When I was pregnant with Emily, I walked around for 2 weeks at 3cm 100% effaced.  I am still planning on holding out until 1/11/11 :o)....if baby cooperates!  Yes.  I am crazy for wanting to prolong this process!

Emily kept pulling adam into the dining room to eat "dinner". You can see the italian coming out in her when she keeps telling Adam "more, more"

Running out of time

I feel as if I am running out of time.  In about 5 weeks our family dynamics with totally change.  Never to be the same again.  We will have TWO kids instead of one.  I feel as if I am running out of time with Emily.  Just Emily.  This weekend Adam had to work both days.  We spent the entire weekend together.  Just her and I.  Saturday we had her cousin's birthday party to go to, and saw some family that night, but other than that we were home together.

We woke up on Sunday and watched Polar Express while snuggled in my bed.  Then we played, went to Wegmans and back home to nap snuggled on the couch.  I just held her tight, staring at her little face as she slept close to me.  Remembering when she was my little baby.

Her little world is about to change and she has no idea. I can't help but feel just a little sad/guilty that she won't be the center of attention anymore.  We won't be able to devote all our time to just her.  I honestly don't know how she will deal with a sibling.  Everyone tells me that it will be a transition. Which is fine to say.  I don't appreciate the people who like to tell me how horrible it is going to be. She is already pretty temperamental!!  She has the whole independence thing going strong.  If she doesn't get her way or we do something for her, all hell breaks loose! Then sometimes she wants us to do things for her.  Such a fun age.

33 weeks

I can honestly say I cannot believe I am 33 weeks pregnant already!  (I am 32 weeks in this picture)  This pregnancy has really flown by for me.  I remember when I was pregnant with Emily, it felt like I was pregnant for an eternity.  I feel as if this pregnancy will start going by even faster now that the holidays are soon approaching.  It is always a busy time for us so there won't be much time to "wait".

I have the nursery almost finished.  The crib is ready!  The bassinet is not.  I am not sure how long we plan on using the bassinet in our room though.  Emily lasted one day because I wasn't getting any sleep.  I kept waking up to check on her.  Plus she was a little noisy.

Because our master bedroom is on the main floor and the nursery is on the second floor, I may just wheel the bassinet into the hallway or the dining room.  The thought of trudging up the stairs for late night feedings early on does not sound appealing at all.

Lastly, I finally finished her baby blanket!  I am really happy with the way it turned out!

Halloween

yeah yeah I know Halloween was a couple weeks ago.  I am just getting around to uploading the pictures!  Emily has quite a day let me just say that.  We went to church, then out to lunch with friends/family then went back to church a couple hours later (right in the middle of nap time) for a harvest party.
The church property has this old barn that my Father-in-law recently cleaned out and painted.  It is perfect for parties and social gatherings.
She had a blast playing the games, sliding down the slide, eating donuts and playing with her cousins Abby and Luke!

Then we came home for a nap before Trick or Treating.  Of course she fell asleep as soon as the car started moving and was out cold as we placed her in her bed.  We had to be at our friends house by 6pm so we woke Emily up at 5:30pm to get her ready.  She wasn't having any of that.  She was such a bear!  Crying and just not happy at all.  This was the result:

Needless to say she was still the cutest little red riding hood I have ever seen!!

Once we got to our friends house and we

started going to a couple houses, she started to perk up and get really into it.  She loved running from house to house, picking out her candy of choice and placing it in her big orange pumpkin!
We came home and put her right back to bed!

Flash cards video

Emily just loves to do her flash cards. I caught a small glimpse of her playing around with them. So cute!

Last night we were doing them. She still gets stuck on a few of them so I tell her what they are. She started saying "good job mommy" when I got the flash card right!!

High BP Doctor appointment update

So I went back to the doctor for a follow up appointment and to get my blood and urine results.  Everything was fine.  My BP last week was 140/68.  Thursday it was 150/64.  Not much change.  Doc pulled me out another week with orders to take it easy.  Work was not very happy about it.
My house is certainly getting organized and ready for the baby though.  My mother has been coming over pretty much every day to organize/sort/clean something.  The nursery is cleaned out, the basement is cleaned and organized and my kitchen sparkles as well as my bathroom.  Sheets have been changed too.  This upcoming week she is going to help me tackle the nursery organization--clothing decor and such.
I bought materials to make a baby blanket about two months ago.  Over the weekend, I got it all pinned and ready to be sewn.  Hopefully this week I can get that accomplished!!
I have not touched a single photo album though.  I don't think I am ever going to (or want to) get to that project.  ::sigh::

Baby #2 update

Baby #2 is doing great!  I think she has turned into her birthing position already which is nice.  I feel her hiccuping really really low in the mornings when I am about to get up.  Now hopefully she will stay this way.

I went to my 28 week appointment last Thursday and my blood pressure was borderline high at 140.   The OB decided to pull me out of work this week with strict orders to take it easy.  She told me to stay in my PJ's, watch videos and relax.  I also had to take a 24 hour urine collection (which was gross) and get blood work done.  I have an appointment tomorrow to see the results from the urine and blood work.  I am hoping I can return to work--at least part time.

This week has been nice to just sit back and do pretty much no housework!  I feel so much more relaxed (which I guess is the point right??).  I had all these small sitting projects to do like put pictures in albums, work on some sewing things and just watch some chick flicks.  I haven't really done any of that!  My mom has been coming over to clean and entertain Emily.  We did get the nursery cleaned out and ready to be re-decorated.  I have been taking lots of naps and going to other doctor appointments.

I guess we will have to see what tomorrow brings!!

Welcome!

Welcome to our new blog!  I figured with our expanding family trying to keep up with more than one blog would just be way too much.  I can barely keep up with the two I have so for now on, check this one for updates on both kiddos.

Lets start with Emily.  She is growing and changing more each and every day.  Ever since she hit two, she has really blossomed into a little girl.  She can speak sentences and can actually vocally let us know what she does and doesn't want.
She is still a little peanut at 21 lbs, 34 inches tall.  She is in size 24 month clothing, but it is a little big on her.  I am pretty sure she will stay in this size for the entire year which will be great for my wallet!!

She loves baby dolls.  She feeds her baby, changes the diaper, puts it to sleep and pushes it all over the house.

We went to the pumpkin patch a couple weekends ago.  It was a lot of fun!  Emily had a blast looking (and finding) a pumpkin just for herself.  There was a petting zoo, but she was a tad afraid of the animals up close so we took a raincheck on that.  Her favorite part was helping mommy push the cart with the perfect pumpkin!
